Urgent Retrieval Notice

There is currently an active "retrieval" notice from Purina Mills. If you go to the Purina wbsite: www.horse.purinamills.com and click on "Eastern U.S. Voluntary Product Retrieval (Updated May 8, 2008)" located in the bottom right hand corner you can find out more.

Batches are being recalled by date codes printed on the bottom of the bag!

The date code is a series of numbers and letters on the bottom of the bag. It starts with the year which will be: 7, or 07 or 8, or 08, then three letters for the month, a day, and finally three letters for the plant location (ie. Statesville will be STA)

Names of the feeds are Country Acres (Sweet 10, Sweet 12, Pellet 10, and Pellet 12) and Equine Senior. The Country Acres feeds are from November 07 and January and February 08. There is only one date code of Senior affected and that is 8JAN05STA. Products manufactured at the Statesville, NC plant after Feb. 2, 2008 are NOT affected.
